What Is Yacon Root Extract?

Yacon Root Extract is derived from the tubers of the Yacon plant (Smallanthus sonchifilius). Yacon is native to South America and is known for its sweet-tasting tuberous roots which contain inulin and fructooligosaccharides that acts as a prebiotic and aids gut health. Although not as sweet as table sugar, this Yacon Root Extract is a sweet-tasting powder that can be used as a highly nutritious sugar-substitute.
